King Saud University and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals got ranked above Istanbul and Tehran Universities, There is no place for any university in Egypt. 
Harvard University took first place in the list of the best university in the world in 2010, retaining its valuable crown for the eighth consecutive year. Also, American universities rank high on the list of «Academic Ranking of World Universities» (ARWU) published by the University of Shanghai Jiaotong China every year since 2003. Two universities from the Middle East made the list in 2010. Two universities from Saudi Arabia shown in the list of the best 500 universities in the world instead from one university last year, namely King Saud University and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. Eight American universities rank among the top 10 universities in the world and 54 universities rank also among the best 100 universities. As it came after Harvard University, the Universities of California at Berkeley , Stanford, Harvard and the MIT-Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed in fifth place and Britain's Cambridge University, which was ranked fourth in the list in 2009, and the California Institute of Technology, State universities of Princeton and Columbia and Chicago, while British Oxford University ranks tenth. The number of British universities in the list of the best 500 universities has lowered from 40 to 38 universities. King Saud University, ranked 324 in the list while Istanbul University ranked 424, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals ranked 427, while Tehran University was ranked 490 on the list . As for Egypt, Cairo University, in particular, did not originally appear on the list. Cairo University was on the list of 2007 and was ranked  403-510, and it came in third place as for the regional level after the Universities of Cape Town and WitWatersrand; both in South Africa.
